The State Government recently released the draft Queensland Infrastructure Plan for public comment. The plan provides a clear outline of the short-term infrastructure projects planned for the State, as well as outlining the longer-term infrastructure priorities. It identifies the infrastructure needed to support and encourage growth across Queensland’s major regional economic zones and will improve the way existing infrastructure is managed. Council has adopted amendments to the Ipswich Planning Scheme (Amendment Package No. 4 of 2009) effective from Monday, 15 August 2011.The amendments relate to the following major components:
· Auxiliary Unit Provisions;
· Business Incubator Zone at Raceview/Flinders View;
· Bushfire Risk Areas Overlay Map (OV1) and Provisions;
· Mining Influence Areas Overlay Map (OV3);
· Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) Areas Overlay Map (OV7E);
· Springfield Structure Plan;
· Decommissioning of the Warrill Creek Water Treatment Plant;
· Planning Scheme Mapping;
· Planning Scheme Schedules; and
· Other planning scheme operational amendments.
Copies of the planning scheme may be viewed and downloaded free of charge from PD Online on Council’s web site: www.ipswich.qld.gov.au or can be inspected or purchased from the Planning and Development Counter, Ipswich City Council Administration Building, 45 Roderick Street, Ipswich from 15 August 2011.
